Why coffee wood?
Coffee wood is densely grown, but not so hard that teeth get damaged on it. While chewing it frays instead of splintering. It contains no caffeine, no calories and no additives. And it is a by-product: coffee shrubs are replaced after about 20 years, otherwise the wood would be burned.
From what age can puppies have coffee wood?
From teething onwards, so from about the fourth month. Take the smallest size and stick with it. Chewing massages the gums and helps when the milk teeth are wobbly. Replace the wood as soon as it becomes smaller than the mouth.
Which size for my dog?
- S: up to about 10 kilos, also for puppies
- M: 10 to 20 kilos
- L: 20 to 35 kilos
- XL: from 35 kilos and for all power chewers
Coffee wood as a toy
Besides the chew stick there is coffee wood on a hemp rope and on a cotton rope. That is chew wood and tug toy in one: the dog chews on the wood, you pull on the rope. Good for dogs that want company while chewing.
What if the dog takes the wood apart?
Then the size is too small or your dog is a power chewer. Go one size up or switch to olive wood, ebony or the chew root, which are harder.
