Why goat meat for allergies?
A food allergy develops against proteins the dog has had often. Goat appears in almost no commercial food, so the immune system has no antibodies against it. In an elimination diet, where the dog gets only one species for six to eight weeks, goat is often the last reserve once horse and fish have been used up.
What is in it?
Goat meat is lean, low in cholesterol and rich in iron. It tastes stronger than lamb, which dogs usually like. Our goat dog sausage consists of 97 percent muscle meat, the rest is salt and a natural casing. Firm, so ideal for dicing in training.
Which goat snacks are there?
The range is small because goat meat is rare. At the moment we carry the Wuffwurscht Goat. If you need more variety for an allergy sufferer, combine it with horse, fish or game once it is clear what your dog tolerates.
How much goat sausage per day?
Snacks should make up no more than ten percent of the daily ration. A 100 gram piece of Wuffwurscht makes 100 to 150 pea sized cubes, enough for several training sessions. Keeps about a week in the fridge after opening, diced cubes can be frozen.
