❓ Frequently asked questions
Is the Wuffwurscht suitable for allergy sufferers?
In terms of animal protein, yes: wild boar is the only animal species in the product. Important to know: wild boar is zoologically related to the domestic pig, so with a known pork intolerance it is not the right choice. Added to that is 3 % tapioca as a gluten free binder.
Is this a snack or a food?
A snack. The sausage is a single ingredient feed and supplements the daily ration. It is not intended as a sole meal because it lacks important nutrients such as calcium.
What is the difference to the venison version?
Both are game from the wild. Venison is a little leaner at 8.4 % fat, wild boar at 10.4 % is richer and stronger in flavour.
How long does it keep after opening?
About four days in the fridge. Unopened it keeps for several months when stored cool below 20 °C, and it can also be frozen.
Why is there tapioca in it?
As a binder so the sausage stays firm enough to slice. Tapioca is cassava starch, grain free, gluten free and neutral in taste.
Is wild boar safe for dogs?
Yes, in processed form. Wild boar can carry the Aujeszky virus, which is reliably inactivated by heating during production. Raw wild boar meat, on the other hand, should never be given to your dog.
Does it smell strongly?
Clearly of game, but not overpowering. Easy to handle in the treat bag.
