What exactly are beef lips?
The lip meat of cattle, firm muscle and connective tissue that comes from butchering. For dogs it is exactly this tough structure that is interesting, because it forces them to chew instead of swallow.
How long will my dog chew on them?
Considerably longer than on a treat, but they are not a chew bone for the whole afternoon. The lips soften and fray while chewing instead of breaking brittle, which also makes them suitable for more cautious chewers.
Can I give them daily?
Thanks to the low fat content, beef lips are one of the less critical options. They are a complementary feed that supplements the daily diet but does not replace it, so count them towards the daily ration.
Do they smell strongly?
Much milder than tripe or fish products. Easy to handle indoors and in the treat bag.
Suitable for puppies and seniors too?
From teething onwards and in smaller pieces, yes. For seniors with declining bite strength simply cut smaller, the consistency is yielding enough.
Why do the pieces look different?
Because it is a natural product. Size, thickness and colour vary from piece to piece, that is normal variation and not a difference in quality.
How do I store them?
Cool and dry, reseal the pack after taking a piece out. The best before date is stamped on the packaging.
