Most chews are gone in seconds or so hard that sensitive teeth suffer. The updog beef leg skin sheet sits in between: a large, tough sheet of dried leg skin that a dog really has to work on, without it breaking brittle.
With 76.6 % crude protein and only 7.2 % crude fat it is surprisingly lean. And because you can cut it to size, you decide whether your dog gets a chewing session of five minutes or half an hour.

⚠️ What it is not meant for
Beef leg skin is a beef product. For a dog with a known beef intolerance or during an ongoing elimination diet it is not the right choice. For that we have the Purwell range with rarer protein sources such as horse, roe deer and fish.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Is there fur on the sheet?
No. This version is pure leg skin without fur. If you are specifically looking for a chew with fur, for example to support gut passage, have a look at our beef head skin with fur.
How long will my dog chew on it?
You decide that through the piece size. A large sheet keeps a dog busy much longer than a small piece. The skin softens and frays while chewing instead of breaking brittle.
How do I best cut the sheet?
With sturdy scissors or a sharp knife. Dried skin is firm, so use some force. Narrow strips are ideal for small dogs.
Can I give it daily?
Thanks to the low fat content, beef leg skin is one of the less critical options. It is a complementary feed that supplements the daily diet but does not replace it, so count it towards the daily ration.
Does it smell strongly?
Much milder than tripe or fish products. Perfectly acceptable indoors.
Why do the sheets look different?
Because it is a natural product. Size, thickness and colour vary, that is normal variation and not a difference in quality.
Suitable for puppies and seniors too?
From teething onwards and in smaller pieces, yes, under supervision. For seniors with declining bite strength cut narrow strips.
How do I store it?
Cool and dry, reseal the pack after taking a piece out. The best before date is stamped on the packaging.
