❓ Frequently asked questions
Is the bar suitable for allergy sufferers?
In terms of animal protein, yes: deer is the only animal species in the product and a completely new protein source for most dogs. However, it is not pure muscle meat but also contains offal and carcass. For a strict elimination diet, go through the ingredient list with your vet practice.
What does offal and carcass mean?
Carcass is the skeleton with the attached remnants of meat, offal are organs such as heart and liver. Both are high quality for dogs and provide minerals, hence the crude ash value of 10.8 %. For natural products from whole animals that is the normal range.
How much can my dog have?
According to the feeding recommendation: dogs under 10 kg 1 to 2 pieces daily, dogs over 10 kg 3 to 6 pieces. At 22.9 % crude fat it is worth reducing the main food accordingly.
What is the consistency like?
Firm but supple, the bar can be broken with the fingers. It is not meant as a long lasting occupation but as a highly attractive reward bite.
Is glycerine a concern?
No. Glycerine is an approved humectant and in semi moist snacks the usual way to keep the consistency without preservatives. The proportion is 1 %.
Where does the venison come from?
From the wild, from responsible hunting in Europe. No farmed game.
Does the bar smell strongly?
Clearly of game, but not pungent, easy to handle in the treat bag.
How do I store it?
Cool and dry, close the pack well after taking a piece out. The best before date is stamped on the packaging.
