Why are the cubes soft and not hard dried?
Because they are meant for dogs that can no longer cope with hard chews. The 1 % glycerine keeps the residual moisture in the product, hence the yielding consistency. They are therefore not suitable as a chewing occupation but as a reward that disappears straight away.
Are they suitable for allergy sufferers?
In terms of animal protein, yes: goose is the only animal species in the product, and very few dogs have had this kind of poultry before. However, it is not pure muscle meat but also contains offal and carcass. For a strict elimination diet, go through the ingredient list with your vet practice.
What is meant by carcass?
The skeleton with the attached remnants of meat. It provides minerals such as calcium, hence the crude ash value of 11.38 %. For natural products from whole animals that is the normal range.
How many cubes can my dog have per day?
According to the feeding recommendation: dogs under 10 kg 3 to 5 pieces, dogs over 10 kg 5 to 10 pieces daily. At 28 % crude fat it is worth reducing the main food accordingly.
Is glycerine a concern?
No. Glycerine is an approved humectant and in soft snacks the usual way to keep the soft consistency without preservatives. The proportion is 1 %.
How do the cubes smell?
Clearly of poultry, but not pungent, easy to handle in the treat bag.
How do I store them?
Cool and dry, close the pack well after taking a piece out. Because the cubes contain residual moisture, this matters more than with hard dried snacks.
