Purwell Salmon Power is both in one: dried salmon spines, in other words the backbone of the salmon with the attached meat. With 6.9 % omega-3 from the raw material itself, and a structure your dog works on for minutes instead of swallowing it.

❓ Frequently asked questions

What exactly are salmon spines?
The backbone of the salmon with the attached meat, gently dried. It is left over from filleting, and for dogs that is precisely the interesting part, because cartilage, bones and remaining meat together make for proper chewing work.

Do the bones splinter?
Fish vertebrae are soft and cartilaginous, not brittle like poultry bones, they fray while chewing instead of breaking into sharp edges. Still, as with every chew: feed only under supervision and provide fresh water.

Are they suitable for allergy sufferers?
Yes. It is a pure single protein product made from dehydrated salmon spines, without grain, sugar or additives. If your dog specifically reacts to fish, they are of course not for them.

38.6 % crude fat, is that not a lot?
Salmon is an oily fish, which is where the omega-3 comes from. That is why the spines are a chewing session and not a daily permanent snack: count them towards the daily ration and reduce the main food accordingly. With pancreatitis or prescribed fat reduction, talk to your vet practice first, in that case our cod power cubes with 3.2 % fat are the better choice.

How long does a spine keep a dog busy?
Much longer than a treat, but it is not a chew bone for the whole afternoon. A few minutes depending on the dog, a determined chewer gets through faster than a leisurely one.

Do they smell strongly?
Yes, clearly of fish. That is part of it and the reason for the high acceptance. For indoors we recommend a washable mat.

Suitable for puppies too?
From teething onwards and in smaller pieces yes. The spines are easy to split before feeding.

How do I store them?
Cool and dry, close the pack well after opening. The best before date is stamped on the packaging.
