🐟 74 % protein at 8.6 % fat: the lean one among the salmon products
Salmon is considered rich in fat, and that is usually true. The Purwell salmon cracker is the exception: it consists of the dehydrated salmon head, firm cartilage, bones and meat instead of fatty skin. The result is 74 % protein at only 8.6 % crude fat.
Then there is the structure. A salmon head is not a snack that disappears in two bites, your dog has to work through it. That is exactly what makes it a chewing session rather than a reward.
Composition: dehydrated salmon head. Nothing else.

❓ Frequently asked questions
What is the difference to Salmon Power?
Salmon Power is the spines, in other words the backbone with attached meat, rich in fat at 38.6 % and with 6.9 % omega-3 in return. The salmon cracker is the head: lean at 8.6 % fat, but richer in protein and firmer. For skin and coat take Salmon Power, for lean chewing occupation this one.
Do the bones splinter?
Fish bones are soft and pliable, not brittle like poultry bones, they fray while chewing instead of breaking into sharp edges. Still, as with every chew: feed only under supervision and provide fresh water.
Are they suitable for allergy sufferers?
Yes. It is a pure single protein product made from dehydrated salmon head, without grain, sugar or additives. If your dog reacts to fish in general, it is not for them.
How much can my dog have?
According to the feeding recommendation, offer as desired. In practice that means: as a snack, not as a meal, count it towards the daily ration.
How long does a cracker keep a dog busy?
Much longer than a treat. A few minutes depending on the dog, a determined chewer gets through faster than a leisurely one.
Does it smell strongly?
Yes, clearly of fish. That is part of it and the reason for the high acceptance. For indoors we recommend a washable mat.
Suitable for puppies too?
From teething onwards and in smaller pieces yes, under supervision.
How do I store it?
Cool and dry, close the pack well after opening.
